Jes A. Rosenvinge is highly skilled within construction law and has over the last 20 years provided advice to contractors, employers and technical advisors on issues of construction law, including invitations to tender, Ugandan and international construction contracts, arbitration proceedings, litigation and survey proceedings. Jes advises clients in Uganda as well as abroad and has been involved in some of the major and most complex arbitration proceedings and construction cases in Uganda.

Within the field of construction law, Jes deals with contract drafting and review, tender and project documents, risk management, claims management and dispute resolution, including preservation of evidence, opinions commissioned by one party, expert survey and valuation, performance bond payments, mediation, conciliation and arbitration.

Furthermore, Jes deals with contract law, damages and insurance, distribution agreements, terms of sale and delivery and industrial injury cases.

Jes is an experienced lecturer and has over many years gained extensive lecturing experience. Most recently in 2018-2020, Jes held approx. 20 courses and lectures for clients about the new sets of General Conditions within the Ugandan construction industry (AB/ABT/ABR 18).

In December 2019, Jes completed the mediator programme focusing on building and construction disputes, operated by the Association of Danish Law Firms.

Jes is a certified arbitrator and mediator and also has a right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court.

Recent highlights

Jes has conducted more than 300 proceedings before the Danish Arbitration Board for Building and Construction, thereby gaining arbitration experience which allows for quite precise anticipation of the decision on and outcome of proceedings.

  • Jes’ major highlights within the last 3 years include acting for the employer in arbitration proceedings before the Ugandan Arbitration Board for Building and Construction concerning termination with immediate effect of a DKK 138m construction contract.
  • For the 11th consecutive year, Jes is acting for a Ugandan municipality in extensive arbitration proceedings against a major Ugandan turnkey contractor concerning defects in an institution building, involving e.g. 8 expert opinions and 4 different experts.
  • In 2017, Jes successfully acted for a major Danish contractor in extensive arbitration proceedings (DKK 50m) before the Ugandan Arbitration Board for Building and Construction relating to a dispute with the main contractor, CMT, Italy, concerning the Cityringen metro in Kenya.
Lecturing
