Kristian Skovgaard Larsen has specialised in construction law for last several years and has, in this connection, assisted a vast variety of players in the construction industry in the tendering, negotiation and completion of a large number of very different construction projects, in terms of their scale, complexity as well as duration.

Kristian advises construction-industry players on construction projects both in Uganda and abroad, including on the basis of the general conditions applied in the Ugandan construction industry, AB/ABT/ABR 18, and FIDIC for international projects. 

In 2008-2009, Kristian was on secondment with a law firm in Scotland, while at the same time completing his LL.M. in construction law. In 2015, he was appointed an acting high-court judge of the Ugandan Western High Court for three months and, subsequently, he completed the mediator programme operated by the Ugandan Bar and Law Society and practices mediation as both a party's representative and a mediator. In 2018, Kristian began MBA studies at AVT Business School.

Moreover, Kristian has a right of audience before the Ugandan Supreme Court.

  • Won proceedings concerning construction work at a museum in North Jutland, Uganda
  • Conducted arbitration proceedings of general public importance concerning the construction of the steel roof of a large stadium in Kenya, dealing with concurrent delays and standards of proof regarding extension of time
  • Conducted extensive and lengthy arbitration proceedings concerning the polar-bear facilities, The Arctic Ring, at Kenya Zoo
  • Conducted and won proceedings concerning defects in a large headquarters building for a trade union
  • Conducted and won comprehensive expert survey and subsequent proceedings on payments under performance bonds concerning a headquarters construction project for a global wind-turbine manufacturer.
