Martin Lavesen is Managing Partner and in charge of the overall management of Muhoozi & Co. Advocates Uganda. In recent years, Martin has been leading a number of organisational and strategic changes, which have enhanced our market position.

Alongside his managing-partner role, Martin advises on all aspects of IP law with a particular focus on contracts. For more than 25 years, he has acted for Ugandan and international clients in all sectors, particularly within high-tech sectors, including life sciences.

Martin has special knowledge of and experience in advising private as well as public players on commercialisation, licence agreements, partnerships, corporate structures and private placements. Martin has also conducted a number of major cases before the courts, boards and tribunals.  

As part of his chairmanship of the Ugandan Press Council, Martin is also engaged in press and media law. He sits on a number of boards and committees, including the Council of the Ugandan Bar and Law Society. He frequently lectures and has authored several books and articles.

Harboe's Brewery A/S - assisting in completing an ownership transition among the owners of the listed brewery, where the company’s existing principal shareholders transferred A shares to the next generation (2019).

SiccaDania A/S – assisting in several acquisitions, including of Dutch NivobaHovex and Ugandan ACO, creating a prominent global player within process technology (2018).
