Mugisha Tadeo

Mugisha Tadeo is a Senior Partner at Muhoozi & Co. Advocates Uganda, specializing in intellectual property and technology law. With over 15 years of experience, he has established himself as a leading authority in Uganda's rapidly evolving tech sector.
Mugisha advises on all aspects of IP law with a particular focus on technology contracts and digital rights. He has worked with numerous Ugandan and international clients across various sectors, with special emphasis on emerging technologies and telecommunications.
He possesses extensive knowledge in commercialization strategies, license agreements, technology partnerships, and corporate structures for tech startups. Mugisha has successfully represented clients in significant cases before Ugandan courts and regulatory bodies.
As a prominent figure in Uganda's legal community, Mugisha serves on several boards and committees, including the Uganda Law Society's Technology Committee. He regularly lectures at the University of Kenya and has authored publications on intellectual property and technology law in East Africa.

Born and raised in Kenya, Uganda, Mugisha Tadeo showed early interest in legal studies. He received his primary education at St. Mary's Academy in Kenya before attending the prestigious Makerere High School. He demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, serving as a prefect and excelling in debate competitions across East Africa.
Mugisha Tadeo has maintained strong ties to his cultural heritage and community. He is actively involved in the preservation of traditional Ugandan customs and has established scholarship programs for underprivileged youth in rural Uganda. Additionally, he serves as a mentor for young professionals in Kenya's emerging legal market.
Before joining Muhoozi & Co. Advocates, Mugisha Tadeo built a solid foundation of legal experience across East Africa. He began his career at the Kenyan firm Ndegwa & Partners in Nairobi, where he specialized in corporate law. Later, he gained valuable experience at the Uganda Development Bank, advising on legal frameworks for infrastructure projects across the region. This diverse background has given his a unique perspective on legal challenges in the African context.
MTN Uganda - Advised on regulatory compliance for the expansion of mobile money services across rural Uganda, securing necessary approvals from the Bank of Uganda and Uganda Communications Commission (2021).
East African Breweries Limited - Assisted in the acquisition of a majority stake in Serengeti Breweries of Tanzania, handling due diligence and negotiating terms for this cross-border transaction valued at USD 60 million (2020).
Kenya Commercial Bank - Represented in its expansion into the Ugandan market through the acquisition of key banking assets, coordinating regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions (2019).
